The subject of Reiki stirs up many impassioned feelings in its followers. Some people believe in a "pure" form of Reiki and can feel a little threatened by a book like this.

I want to make it clear that I have a mission in writing this book: To bring Reiki to more people in an accessible, understandable way.

I believe this book is important because it opens Reiki up to people who cannot afford to study it formally or need a different approach. This world needs as much healing as it can get. We need multiple channels for the information. This book is just one way, not the only way or even the best way, but one way toward healing.

What is "Reiki"?
Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a very simple form of energy healing, usually done with the hands. Reiki means "Universal Life Force Energy" and it is used to gently send healing energy to areas of the body that may be ill or blocked.

What is a Reiki symbol?
A Reiki symbol is simply a symbol that is visualized during the healing process to stimulate the flow of healing energy. Many different Reiki systems use a variety of Reiki symbols.

What is "Simple Reiki"?
My "Simple Reiki" system is an easy to understand Reiki system that utilizes a personal symbol instead of memorizing a lot of other symbols (that you may soon forget). I learned a bunch of symbols when I studied Reiki. I forgot most of them and use the one I got during my Reiki Master attunement almost exclusively.

This is not to say symbols are bad: You can also use the processes in the book to attune yourself to any symbol.

Do I need to know anything about Reiki to use this book?
This book teaches you everything you'd need to know to perform Reiki on yourself. It explains energy healing in a very clear manner so it can be easily understood and utilized. You do not need any experience or "talent" as an energy healer to use this book.

I'm already a Reiki Practitioner/Master. Is this book for me?
While this book is written so that anyone can use Reiki, even a complete novice, I believe there is enough information on this book that more experienced healers may also benefit. The reason for this is I focus the entire book on using Reiki for your own personal issues. This is not necessarily the focus in a Reiki class. I think you may also enjoy the processes to get your own symbol and attune yourself.

I had one Reiki Practitioner tell me that she had gotten a Reiki certificate and realized when she looked at my book that she didn't know as much about it as she thought. If you were confused by your Reiki class, this book may help.

What is a Reiki attunement?
A Reiki attunement is a special ritual to open a person up to flow the Reiki energy. Once you've been attuned, you can perform Reiki and it cannot be turned back off.

Isn't it impossible to attune yourself to Reiki?
In the book I explain very clearly why self-attunements work. They really do work. Usui himself was not attuned by another and neither were the thousands of people who received self-attunements through Reiki Revolution. All of these fine folks reported being able to do Reiki healing.

If people attune themselves, won't there be a danger they'll do it wrong?
If that were the case, then it'd be easy for another person to attune you incorrectly as well. I believe attunements are done through intention, in conjunction with spirit (or God). No-one will be able to harm themselves or others because they have attuned themselves to
the energy as opposed to someone else attuning them. Well, unless the person actively decide to attune themselves to evil energy or something...but I can't imagine that happening and that's not Reiki anyway. Remember, "Reiki can do no harm."

Shouldn't people study Reiki under a Reiki Master?
I am a Reiki Master, and I wrote the book as if it were a class I'd teach, so you will be studying with a Reiki Master. Second, the book is entirely geared towards Reiki for personal healing on oneself and as such, readers are advised to pursue formal training with a Reiki Master should they want to be a professional healer and work with others.

Won't this Simple Reiki "dilute" the Reiki energy?
My belief is that Reiki energy is it's own thing. We cannot change it or
dilute it. Spirit does the attunement. The attunement cannot be done
"wrong." Reiki cannot be done wrong. The energy itself precludes it.

Yes, we can become bigger channels to the energy with more attunements. I also make it clear that attunements and energy healing work best with the intention of another, just because two heads are better than one! You will still benefit from using Reiki regardless.

Isn't it wrong to make money off of Reiki?
In an ideal world, I'd be independently wealthy and I'd give this book away for free. I am not, however. It has become clear to me that my path is to help people through writing books. The writing is very hard work and in order to be able to devote my time to it, the exchange of money for writing is what the universe intends for me. The universe has been trying to get me to write for a long time. It is a personal calling I have avoided for years actually.

Ironically, it seems that half the Reiki people think all Reiki should be free, while the other half feels just as passionate that Reiki should only be done with an exchange of energy (be it money or time or whatnot). Who is right? All I know is, writing this book was hard work and I cannot afford to devote myself to writing this or future volumes on related subjects unless I can eat. No-one seems to have a problem when someone charges for a Reiki class, so why a book? To me $22.22 for a book like this is a major bargain. With this book you'll have everything you need to heal yourself. And, if you can't afford a healer, you'll save yourself money in the long run.

What are your credentials?
I am a Reiki Master and a professional trained Life Coach. I also have certifications in EFT, TAT, and EF&H. I consider myself a "subject matter expert" in the area of energy healing, though there's always more to learn!
